Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy is no longer viewed as a luxury.  It is often used as a therapy to relieve chronic muscle tension as well as assist in rehabilitation from an injury. Specifically, deep tissue massage is designed to work out pain areas as well as offer relaxation.  The focus of deep tissue massage is on the underlying deeper muscles, tendons and ligaments as well as fascia (the protective layer covering muscles, joints and bones).

Deep Tissue Massage Goals

Deep tissue massages uses firm and slow pressure. It is focused work, directed at your deep layers of muscle and damaged tissue.  It works by breaking up thickened areas of your muscle fibers with the goal of helping your tissue regain proper elasticity.  For this reason, deep tissue massage can be very effective in breaking down old scar tissue and muscle adhesions.  Deep tissue massage improves your circulation bringing better oxygen flow back to your tight muscles. This helps to promote healing as well as releases your toxins that have been stored in your body.

Where do I go for Deep Tissue Massage?

I offer and perform deep tissue massage in our Hanover office.  My most utilized massage technique focuses on deep tissue work.  Most people can greatly benefit from this type of massage and really enjoy my sessions.  I also utilize hot stones into my massage sessions.  I use the hot stones as a tool to penetrate the deep muscle layers, as well as enhance circulation.  By incorporating hot stones and deep tissue massage together, the massage is more comfortable and has better outcomes for my clients.

If you would like to schedule a deep tissue massage, or have any questions, I can be reached at 781-829-9300.  I have massage hours Monday – Thursday, including Thursday evening.

Yours in Health,
